What types of events do mermaids do?
Anything and everything, land and sea! Here is a non-exhaustive list of the events Enaya has performed at:
Children’s birthday parties, adult birthday parties, family reunions, wedding receptions, bachelorette parties, daycares and schools, competitive swim meets, libraries, vendor markets, parades, block parties, company picnics, realty home showings, business openings, gym pools, bars and lounges, hotel openings/events, apartment community parties, and much more!
How does a mermaid get to the pool for my party? Can she walk?
Mermaids cannot walk after putting their tail on! In order to get into the pool, the mermaid will need up to 10 minutes of time to weave her tail magic before entering water or sitting down. Most events distract the guests temporarily away from the setup location, or the mermaid may be carried by 2+ able bodied people.
What is the difference between a mermaid tail, and a monofin?
A mermaid tail refers to the entire unit a human wears from the waist down; they can be made of fabrics, and even silicone. A monofin is the aquatic propulsion piece that is embedded into the bottom fin portion of the mermaid tail, in which the swimmer inserts their feet. A monofin is required to be able to swim in the tail safely.
What is the difference between fabric, hybrid, and silicone mermaid tails?
Fabric tails are typically supported by a plastic monofin. They are easy to carry and are a popular choice for mermaid hobbyists. They do have sewing seams, and printed scales typically.
Hybrid tails have a silicone monofin and are often custom made with specialty prints and fabrics. These tails are heavy, large, and require a lot of training to use. In water, they flow gracefully and can fool even the most skeptical humans!
Silicone tails are considered to be luxury; they are expensive, very heavy, and require specialized knowledge to both upkeep and use. This option is not currently available for Enaya, but is coming soon to a swimming pool near you!
What is the maximum number of guests a mermaid can safely entertain?
Birthday Parties: For optimal safety and enjoyment, we recommend a maximum of 15 children per mermaid. If you have a larger group, we can arrange for an additional mermaid to join the party. Please note that there is an additional fee for extra mermaids, and availability is not guaranteed.
Non-birthday Events: Mermaids can entertain a LOT of guests during events where there isn’t a guest of honor. Enaya has successfully entertained groups of 150+ guests!
Do I have to have a pool to hire a mermaid?
You sure don’t! Mermaids are just as happy to perch atop a fluffy sofa, outdoor patio furniture, a counter top, or a nice human chair when entertaining their guests. If you desire water, but do not have access to a swimming pool, mermaids will also joyfully swim for you in fountains, lakes, oceans, rivers, and any other safe bodies of water.
What happens if there is rain?
A little rain or wind is welcome by your mermaid performer as long as your party is willing to enjoy the weather along with her. In the event of dangerous weather (lightning, high wind, hail), mermaid performances become indoor events. Enaya is always prepared to use her magic to use a pair of legs for a while!
What does a professional mermaid do?
A professional mermaid combines a spectrum of talents along with special training to enchant curious humans. Each mermaid possesses a distinctive repertoire, encompassing elegant aquatic choreography, marine expertise, and engaging public presentation.

If she can’t walk in costume, how does the mermaid get to the pool or sitting location?
To ensure a seamless and enchanting arrival, we offer two distinct mermaid transportation methods during your booking process:
Enchanted Entry: This option allows for a sneaky reveal! While your guests are pleasantly distracted, the mermaid will swiftly transform and be ready (requires about 10 minutes of diversion) at her designated location. This method is also ideal for events where the mermaid's presence is desired from the start, such as school dances or corporate gatherings.
Royal Carriage: For a truly special presentation, this option involves the client providing two or more willing assistants to gently carry the mermaid to her designated location. This is perfect for events where a surprise reveal or a presentation to a guest of honor is desired.
